Description Alpha Sigma, the oldest sorority on campus and in the state of Wisconsin, was founded in 1898. This sorority has a strong alumnae board which supports the chapter. Being the only local sorority on campus, the money stays within their house and the community. Overall, their main objectives are to promote high scholastic achievement, friendship, and sisterhood.

Description Lambda Theta Alpha was founded as the First Latina sorority in the U.S, founded at Kean University, in New Jersey in 1975. The purpose of the organization is to create a support group for Latinas in higher education, and unite the Latino community on campus. LTA is established as an academic sorority with goals of community and political activism. Lambda Theta Alpha is not an exclusionary organization.

The Interested Ladies of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Incorporated of UW-Whitewater are working on establishing a chapter.
