Banner Contest
Dry Banners Due: Monday, October 19th by 4pm to Career & Leadership Development
Displayed in University Center Concourse
- Banner size is 4 feet wide by 4 feet long.
- Banners must be made of cloth purchased from the Homecoming Steering Committee. All cloth will be of the same quality of material and will be the color white and illustrated on one side only. No glitter will be allowed; use of glitter may result in disqualification.
- Groups will pay for the cloth when picked up from the HSC at General Meetings.
- One of the colors used on the banner must be purple (5 points).
- The cheer or slogan written on the banner must use the words "Warhawk" OR "Whitewater" AND have organization identification (5points).
- No vulgarity, profanity, promoting of irresponsible use of alcohol, or implying sexual or racial discrimination will be permitted. Banners violating this rule will be automatically disqualified and not displayed.
- Entry forms must be turned in to Career & Leadership Development (UC 146) by 4 pm, Friday, October 9th.
- Banners must be turned in to Career & Leadership Development, DRY, no later than Monday, October 19th, by 4:00 pm to qualify for judging. You are encouraged to submit your entries earlier.
- Banners will be judged in the following areas:
- Banner designers and artists must be current UW-W students.
- The decision of the judges is FINAL.
Judging: Tuesday, October 20th at 9AM, University Center. - Judgeable banners will be hung in the University Center Concourse. Students may vote on their favorite banner in each division during the Homecoming Dance. Voting will take place Monday, October 19th between 8PM and 10PM. Each student will only be allowed to vote once and the points will count for the weight of one judges’ score in the overall points. Winners will be displayed and announced at the Spirit Rally.
