The Reuben Klumb Award for Outstanding Seniors
The Klumb Awards are given in recognition of Dr. Reuben Klumb in honor of his more than 25 years of dedicated work with Homecoming. Each year these awards are given to an outstanding senior female and senior male. The 2010 Senior Award recipients will be chosen among candidates with senior standing and a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Candidates may only apply once and must be graduating within the 2010-11 academic year.
A panel of judges will be selected by the Homecoming Steering Committee and the Senior Awards Coordinator. They will conduct interviews on Sunday, October 17th in Career & Leadership Development’s Conference Room (Room 146) of the University Center.
Entrants will be judged on personality, extra-curricular activities, promotion of school spirit and achievements. A complete application will include the online application form (http://www.uww.edu/involve/homecoming/seniorapp.php), a resume and two letters of recommendation from UW-Whitewater faculty, administrators or university personnel/staff. The Resume and Recommendation letters MUST be received by 11:59pm on Thursday, OCTOBER 14, to the email@example.com email address.
There will be a brief OPTIONAL informational meeting for all candidates on Thursday, October 7th at 6pm in UC 261 .
The winners will be announced at the Variety Show on Wednesday, October 27. Recipients will receive a plaque, an honorarium, and will appear in the Homecoming Parade. They will be recognized at the October 30th football game, and, if possible, also in the commencement program.
Students will be evaluated based on four areas:
- Demonstrated leadership & scholarship
- Campus Involvement
- Promotion of school spirit
- Extra-curricular activities
Completed applications and all materials must be submitted no later than 11:59 pm, Thursday October 14th.
Please make sure to sign up for an interview time at the Career & Leadership front desk after you have submitted your application online. Interview sign ups must be completed by Friday, October 15th at 12:00pm.
