Athletics & Recreation

Involvement opportunities in athletics and recreation range from competitive sports teams to attending fitness classes, and are available to all students, regardless of experience, ability or skill.

Men's and Women's Intercollegiate Athletics:

Intercollegiate athletics includes competitive sports played against other schools primarily in NCAA Division Three. Many sports are available for athletes at UW-W, including nine men's and eleven women's teams. For more information please visit the Warhawk Athletics Web site.

Wheelchair Athletics:

Club Sports:

The Club Sports program at UW-Whitewater is designed to provide the opportunity for students, faculty and staff to participate in a variety of competitive, instructional and recreational sports. There are approximately 25 clubs available, ranging from competitive teams to outdoor activities such as camping. For additional information please go to the Club Sports Web site.

Intramurals:

The purpose of the Intramural Sports Program is to provide healthful exercise, promote leisure education, enrich social competence and develop group loyalty. Recreation and Fitness:

The mission of the Office of Recreations Sports and Facilities is to provide facilities, programs, and services that address all physical, recreational, and leisure pursuits of the University community. Emphasis is placed on participation, increasing knowledge of wellness and physical fitness, and promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors. Get involved by joining a fitness class, utilizing the weight room or checking out fitness equipment! Spirit Program:

UW-Whitewater's Spirit Program consists of Cheerleading and Dance Teams for Warhawk Football and Basketball seasons. Try-outs are typically held in the Fall Semester for all teams. For more information, please go to the Spirit Program Web site.

University Center Recreation Center:

Located in the lower level of the new University Center, the Rec Center includes: bowling, billiards, darts, video games and more. For more information, visit the UC Recreation Center.
