Survey Research

Surveys are often used by members of the university community to gather data for research, feedback, program evaluation, or ad-hoc purposes. While the collection and use of survey information is encouraged, surveys must be crafted and administered with care. Online surveys are easy to administer, but also increase the likelihood that certain campus populations will be over-surveyed (leading to survey fatigue) and that staff may inadvertently duplicate (rather than capitalize on) the work of colleagues. Improving quality and timing of survey administration can help the researcher get the best use out of the survey data collected.
