The mission of the Multicultural Education Center is to be a component of our institution's overall Multicultural education efforts by offering events and services that create an awareness of cultural diversity within the campus community.
MEC is currently blended with Leadership Development in Drumlin 120. Due to the University Center addition project, separate space was not available. The MEC will have its own space in the University Center once the project is complete (approx. January 0f 2008). If you have any questions or concerns regarding nontraditional students or commuters, please feel free to stop by Drumlin 120. Leadership Development has a gathering/study space as well as said resources and computer access for students.
In addition, the MEC has an extensive Multicultural Library, which includes a wide variety of titles and diverse authors, travel guides as well as study abroad information, an extensive compilation of journals and newspapers, and a comprehensive collection of videos and training materials. Due to the UC project, some of the library has been placed in storage but a portion of it is still available for use in Drumlin 120.
