AMA hosts Culver’s Night to raise money for United Nations Children’s Fund

November 5, 2009

Around the world children are living in conditions unimaginable to most Americans. Without adequate support, children who are victims of war, natural disasters, extreme poverty, disabilities, violence and exploitation live a life of suffering.

The United Nations Children's Fund, commonly known as UNICEF, is a part of the United Nations System to provide special protection for the most disadvantaged children.

"The University of Wisconsin- Whitewater's American Marketing Association is hosting Culver's Night from 4 p.m.- 8 p.m. on Wed., Nov. 18, to help raise money for UNICEF to provide clean water. UNICEF has provided 1.2 billion people with safe drinking water since 1960. Ten percent of all Culver's sales are donated to the cause. With just $ 1, UNICEF can supply 40 liters of safe, clean water, enough to provide one child with safe water for 40 days.

The American Marketing Association has been working with Whitewater High School to raise money for the United Nations Children's Fund. "We are very excited to be a part of the United Nations Children's Fund program for the past three years," said Greg Stewart, instructor of advanced placement human geography at Whitewater High School and Model United Nations adviser. "The inclusion of UW- Whitewater's American Marketing Association adds another dimension to what we feel will be a very exciting time for our high school."
