UW- Whitewater presents African American heritage lecture series

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater will be host to a number of speakers in honor of African American Heritage. The Black Student Union, This Is For Us (TIFU) Cultural Ensemble and Gospel Choir co-sponsor the events which take place on Mondays in the University Center Minnieska Room.

Feb. 17 – “African American Athletics: Social and Economic Dilemmas.” Dr. Dick Barnett, former New York Knicks player, 4 p.m.

Mar. 3 – “African Americans and the Criminal Justice System.” Dr. Marvin D. Free, Jr., professor, UW-Whitewater, 4 p.m.

Mar. 10 – “Affirmative Action: Dead or Alive.” Yolanda Y. McGowen, attorney, 4 p.m.

The lectures are free and open to the public.
