Broadway show weekend in October offered through Young Auditorium
Released: May 19, 2003
Back by popular demand, a fall weekend of Broadway shows, first-rate accommodations and good company is being sponsored by the Irvin L. Young Auditorium on Oct. 17 – 20.
“Last year we filled our first 40 spots almost immediately,” said Megan Matthews, interim director of development. “The trip was so successful we are pleased to plan it again this year.”
UW-Whitewater alumni and Friends of the Young Auditorium will receive a special rate for this New York City excursion. Participants will fly Midwest Airlines, stay at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Times Square and attend two Broadway shows: “Gypsy” starring Bernadette Peters on Friday night and “Aida,” featuring the music of Elton John and Tim Rice, on Sunday afternoon.
Space is limited to the first 40 people who register and send in the non-refundable deposit of $250 by July 1. Prices for alumni and friends run $1,548 for a single reservation, $1,135 for a double per person, $998 for a triple and $930 for a quad. The cost is $200 more per person if travelers are not an alumnus or friend. To become a friend requires a minimum annual membership gift of $100 and members receive benefits including a listing in the programs, discounts at the gift shop and more.
