Kohberger appointed director of Young Auditorium
Released: August 4, 2003
Ken Kohberger of Keene, N.H., has accepted the directorship of the Irvin L. Young Auditorium at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Beginning July 28, Kohberger will oversee the Young Auditorium team and presentations, advise the Cultural Affairs Committee and collaborate with the music department for the Bramblett Chamber Music Series.
“I have been fortunate in the opportunities I have had and will have at UW-Whitewater,” said Kohberger. “I look forward to learning about the Whitewater market and the community’s interests.”
Kohberger has more than 25 years experience and is excited to be returning to a college campus to work with students, similar to a previous position at Western Illinois University.
“Ken Kohberger brings us an impressive range of experiences in arts presentation in both the private and the university sectors,” said John Heyer, dean of the College of Arts and Communications. “His breadth of knowledge in programming and his organizational skills will serve our program well.”
Kohberger received his master’s degree from Western Illinois University and bachelor’s degree from State University of New York at Oswego. He has previously served as the executive director for The Colonial Theater Group, Inc. in Keene, N.H., and holds memberships in the Association of Performing Arts Presenters, Green Mountain Consortium, New England Presenters Consortium and Northeast Performing Arts Conference.
“With his history of successful management, he will be a great asset to the Young Auditorium programs and to this community,” Heyer said.
Kohberger replaces former director Randy Mayes, who served Young Auditorium since July 2000.
