UW-Whitewater marketing chapter earns regional award
Released: May 10, 2004
Once again the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater chapter of the Student American Marketing Association (AMA) Chapter was selected as the “Outstanding Regional Chapter” at the 2004 International Collegiate Conference held in New Orleans in March. AMA has also won the international award four times. Faculty advisors are Jimmy Peltier and Scott Swanson.
“Our AMA chapter is a role model to others across the U.S. and abroad,” noted Peltier, marketing professor. “We win because of our dedicated students, their many activities and real world experience through our Creative Marketing Unlimited program, which is the largest student-run marketing firm in the nation.”
AMA Chapter President Tim Gieske, a junior in general business, said that 28 students represented UW-Whitewater at the New Orleans conference. More than 100 students are members of AMA.
