UW-Whitewater to hold Computing Career Day open house

Career Services, together with the departments of information technology and business education, mathematical and computer sciences and management computer systems, will host a Computing Career Day open house on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater campus from noon to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7. The open house, located in Carlson Hall room 3014, will discuss career opportunities in the computing/information technology field and the range of computing degrees offered at UW-Whitewater.

The schedule is as follows:

Noon – 1 p.m.:

  • An overview of the state of information technology and its future.
  • A faculty panel describing campus computing degree programs including the management computer systems major, the information technology infrastructure major, the computer science minor and the Web development and administration minor.
  • An industry panel discussing career opportunities.

1 – 4 p.m.:

  • Information handouts on campus computing degree programs will be available.
  • A help desk staffed by faculty and student members of the Association of Information Technology Professionals and the Information Technology Association will be available to answer questions.

Complimentary refreshments will be provided.  The campus and community are invited to attend.
