Vice Chancellor Jim Freer assumes role as chair on the board of trustees

Jim Freer, vice chancellor of administrative affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, has assumed the role of chair on the Board of Trustees of the Higher Learning Commission.
Freer, Fort Atkinson, was elected to a four-year term as a trustee beginning in September 2003. Last year, the board selected him the vice chair/chair elect, and in June 2005 confirmed that he would serve as chair from September 2005 though August 2006.
Steven Crow, executive director of the Higher Learning Commission said, “Jim has been invaluable in providing good board leadership to the commission.” Freer also serves on the Higher Learning Commission’s finance committee.
The Higher Learning Commission is located in Chicago and is one of six regional accrediting associations that grants membership to employees of educational institutions.
