Jose-Luis Orozco to give free family concert

On Monday, Nov. 7, award-winning educator, performer, songwriter and author Jose-Luis Orozco will perform a free family concert at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. The concert will take place at 7 p.m. in the Hamilton Center, located in the James R. Connor University Center. Everyone is invited to attend.
Orozco has recorded 13 volumes of “Lirica Infantil, Latin American Children’s Music,” and written two award-winning books, “De Colores and Other Latin American Folk Songs for Children” (Dutton, 1994) and “Diez Deditos - Ten Little Fingers” (Dutton, 1997). He continues to perform for children throughout the country at concert halls, libraries and schools.
Considered an expert in children’s music, Orozco is a featured speaker and presenter at educational conferences and seminars for teachers, parents, librarians and childcare providers who seek to use music as a learning tool in multicultural classrooms.
Orozco, a native of Mexico City, lives in Los Angeles.
