Music faculty to perform at Capitol Theater Nov. 4-5

Four University of Wisconsin – Whitewater music faculty will perform in the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra for the grand opening of the Overture Center’s new Capitol Theater in Madison on Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5 at 8 p.m.
UW-Whitewater performers include Frank Hanson on the principal trumpet, Linda Kimball on the principal horn, Robin Fellows on the principal flute and Leanne League on the violin.
The concert will feature internationally renowned soprano Kathleen Battle singing Mozart and Gershwin. Hanson will accompany her as a soloist on the piccolo trumpet in “Let the Bright Seraphim” from Handel’s Oratorio, “Sampson” (HWV 57, Act 3).
The concert will also feature pianist Stewart Goodyear performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 and music by Rossini, Prokofiev, and Faure performed by the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra.
