Social Work Organization donates 439 pounds of food to Second Harvest Foodbank

Released: November 9, 2005

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Social Work Student Organization (SWSO) recently donated 439 pounds of non perishable food to America’s Second Harvest Food Bank of Wisconsin to aid Hurricane Katrina victims living in the state.

SWSO members trick-or-treated through two student apartment buildings on the night of Halloween to collect food, while other members collected donations from the surrounding Whitewater community. SWSO president Brian Klinke expressed his thanks to all who contributed to the cause. “On behalf of SWSO many thanks go out to those who donated food and their time.”
