Second issue of 'Stateline Economic Report' now available
Released: December 19, 2005
Employment, salaries, manufacturing and housing start trends are all covered in the second issue of the Stateline Regional Economic Report. Published by the Fiscal & Economic Research Center at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, the report gathers statistics and highlights economic trends in the five-county region it covers. Green, Jefferson, Lafayette, Rock and Walworth counties are profiled in the quarterly report edited by UW-Whitewater professors Russ Kashian and Jeff Heinrich, who note that “The goal is to highlight the important economic trends that impact the regional economy and the competitiveness of local industries.
“Each issue will include the latest data on regional employment and economic conditions. Feature articles will cover a variety of economic and demographic issues at both the county and municipal level.”
In the latest issue, Associate Professor Stuart Glosser of the economics department at UW-Whitewater weighs in on the recent appointment of Ben Bernanke as the chair of the Federal Reserve System and how it will ultimately affect the five-county Stateline region regarding such issues as employment, interest rates and inflation.
