A record-breaking turnout at Saturday's homecoming football game spelled out victory for the UW-Whitewater Warhawk football team. An unofficial estimate of 9,570 total fans flooded the stadium with school spirit. It was a sight to see as the gates poured open with a sea of white and purple. The question is, can the university keep this momentum going?
UW-Whitewater has one more regular season home game against the University of Wisconsin-Stout scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 4. "This is the last regular season home game which also means it will be coach Bob Berezowitz?s last home game as well," Intercollegiate Athletics Director Paul Plinske said. The 62-year-old head coach has been leading the Warhawks to victory since 1985 with his team?s winning eight conference championships (1987, 1988, 1990, 1994, 1997, 1998, 2005) and finishing runner-up in the NCAA Division III National Championship.
"Now is the time if any to come out and recognize and cheer on a very successful coach and football team," Plinske said.
