Students encouraged to register now for November elections

Released: October 2, 2006

Students, let your voices be heard and register to vote now for November elections.  First-time voters should to bring their Wisconsin drivers license or number to leadership development located in Drumlin 120 before Oct. 13.  If students do not have a drivers license, first-time voters can bring the last four digits of their social security number and their student ID with them.

"It is our civic responsibility to vote," Associate Director of Leadership Development Jan Bilgen said.  "This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in something that is significant to everyone's lives.  It is so easy to come to the leadership development office to register before Oct. 13 since it will be much harder to register to vote after this time.  We are encouraging all first-time voters to sign up now."

On the day of election, voting booths will be available at the Old Armory located on 146 W. North St. in Whitewater.  The leadership development office hours are Monday-Thursday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
