Choose your adventures at the 2006 Wellness Fair

Released: October 23, 2006

Staying in shape and eating well can be a hard task to accomplish while attending college.  But it doesn't have to.  From 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 25 at the Williams Center, students can attend the 2006 Wellness Fair, "Choose Your Own Adventures," and learn how to live a healthier lifestyle.

"I think a lot of the time students do not know what is available to them at little or no cost," Coordinator for Aquatics & Fitness Jen Kaina said about the Wellness Fair.  "It is all about the resources in a campus community, whether you are helping yourself or a friend.  Health and wellness can sometimes be an adventure and people can certainly choose to be a part of their own personal wellness, or not.  We want to support the campus and surrounding community to be involved and make a difference in their own lives, therefore contributing to their own personal success."

The Wellness Fair will have 25 health experts on hand to help answer any questions students may have on how to live a healthier lifestyle.  Free assessments and screenings will be available in order to help diagnose student?s health habits and help guide them in a healthy direction.  Brochures on bone and joint health, emotional health, student health insurance, alcohol awareness, general nutrition and sexual assault awareness will be available.

Food, massages, games and giveaways, including an MP3 player, exercise equipment, DVDs, gift baskets, massage gift certificates, and a fitness club membership will be available for those in attendence.
