Clifton Gunderson gives $75,000 for business building

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater announced today that the accounting firm Clifton Gunderson has given a gift of $75,000 in support of the new College of Business and Economics building and student scholarships.
"We have a growing relationship with Clifton Gunderson and this support of our new business building is further evidence of that," College of Business and Economics Dean Christine Clements said. "We're very appreciative of everything the firm is doing for us and we look forward to a very strong partnership in the future. It pleases me very much that we'll be able to acknowledge this by naming a classroom for Clifton Gunderson. "
Glifton Gunderson Managing Partner Ted Hart added, "Clifton Gunderson is pleased to invest in one of the premier accounting programs in the United States. Our commitment recognizes the contribution that more than 40 UW-Whitewater alumni make as Clifton Gunderson partners and employees to the growth of our clients and growth of our people."
The nation's 13th largest certified public accountant and consulting firm in the country, Clifton Gunderson has offices in 15 states and Washington, D.C. In Wisconsin, there are 12 offices, located in Black River Falls, Green Bay, Kenosha, Madison, Marshfield, Milwaukee, Oshkosh, Racine, Sheboygan, Sparta, Stevens Point and Tomah. Clifton Gunderson currently employs more than 500 CPAs with a total staff exceeding 1,500, with more than 40 UW-Whitewater alumni working for the firm in Wisconsin, including several shareholders.
The new $41 million College of Business and Economics building will be completed by fall 2009. The building will include a state-of-the-art trading room, 38 hi-tech classrooms, a 400-seat auditorium, two 150-seat lecture halls, five computer labs, a center for entrepreneurial development, a global research center, a fiscal economic research center and an international studies room.- Patti Schenker,schenkerpl07@uww.edu
