Released: December 21, 2006

Judy Collins with the Class Act ensemble
Captivating audiences with her angelic voice since the 1960's, Judy Collins put on another magnificent show collaborating with the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater choral ensemble Class Act for this year's Christmas show on Dec. 7.
Under the direction of Professor Brian Knutson, Class Act performed holiday classics such as "A Holly Jolly Christmas" and "Baby It's Cold Outside" arranged by award-winning composer Kirby Shaw. They also performed "Noche de Paz," a Spanish rendition of "Silent Night" arranged by the Venezuelan composer Cesar Alejandro Carrillo. UW-Whitewater senior Jayne Lubke accompanied the ensemble on piano.
"Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" and "Amazing Grace" were among the selections that Class Act performed as a choral background supporting Collins throughout the two hour Christmas event.
Class Act is a select ensemble of approximately 20 student singers who perform jazz, swing and musical theatre in concerts both on and off campus. In addition to these performances, Class Act also takes annual tours during the spring semester.- Mike Varga,vargama04@uww.edu
