Released: June 7, 2007
University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Interim Chancellor Richard Telfer seeks nominations and applications for the third annual UW-Whitewater Regional Literary Award. The award recognizes writers who celebrate all that makes the Upper Midwest special.
The 2007 honoree was A. Manette Ansay, author of "Vinegar Hill," "Limbo" and most recently "Blue Water" among other titles.
The award includes a $1,000 honorarium plus expenses to attend the award ceremony at UW-Whitewater. A dinner will be held in the author's honor, along with a reading and book signing.
The selection committee will accept submissions through July 16, 2007 and will make its decision in August. The award will be presented to the winning author in April 2008.
The award will honor a living author who has demonstrated a regional connection to the Upper Midwest in his/her published works of prose, poetry, nonfiction or drama.
Please submit a letter of application or nomination along with a copy of the published work or works to be considered. (All submitted books will be donated to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater library.)
