Jimmy Peltier receives Best Paper Award

Released: November 5, 2007

Imagine winning the same award six years in a row. That's what UW-Whitewater Irvin L. Young Professor of Entrepreneurship Jimmy Peltier did when he received the Best Paper Award at the Direct/Interactive Marketing Research Summit.

The conference was held in Chicago Oct. 13-14 and entries were focused on current research in all areas of direct, database and interactive marketing. Peltier's paper, "Organizational and Strategy Formation Factors Relating to Quality Customer Information in Financial Services Firms," was co-authored by Debra Zahay, Axiom Corporation Professor of Interactive Marketing at the University of Northern Illinois.

"As always, I was very excited to learn that I received the best paper award," Peltier said. "In truth, winning the award never gets old and I use the conference as a launching pad for finding a good research home for the manuscript."

The conference was highlighted by the opening keynote speaker, Robert C. Blattberg, representing Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. The afternoon keynote speaker was Sid Liebenson, executive vice president and director of marketing for Draftfcb, a global advertising agency in Chicago.
