Regional manager of Catholic Relief Services to discuss living, working abroad

Released: November 19, 2007

If you think living and working overseas sounds attractive, you may want to stop by Heide Hall room 216 on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. On that day, Christopher Reichert - learning, monitoring, and evaluation regional manager for Catholic Relief Services (CRS) - will present "The Best Decision I Never Made: A Career in Management for A Humanitarian Relief Agency," in which he describes various options for living and working abroad.

Reichert, who holds a master's degree in public health, has lived and worked for more than seven years with CRS, a $600 million international relief and development agency in more than 100 countries. He currently lives in Lusaka, Zambia where he provides strategic support to programs in eight southern African programs.

Reichert's visit is part of International Education Month at UW-Whitewater.

"Many campuses around the state hold an international education week to display their support for working and studying abroad," said Harlan Smith, director of the international education program. "At UW-Whitewater, we see it necessary to set apart a whole month to ensure the students get every opportunity they possible can to learn about the benefits of this amazing program."
