Warhawk Business Plan down to 10 teams

Released: April 02, 2008

The second round of the Warhawk Business Plan contest is complete and the competition is narrowed from 28 teams down to 10.

"The final 10 are a wide variety of teams including food manufacturing, cleaning services, recreational manufacturers and retailers, and a variety of other services, including one exclusively online," said president of the competition, Vanessa Lund.

One of the plans, A Dog's Day Off: Doggie Daycare, plans to introduce a dog daycare to the Whitewater area.  Another, Progressive Enterprises International plans to help inmates and their families order, purchase and ship affordable items for the inmate. Innovative new products include Rendlex Tool's window repair and maintenance tool, Westcoast Streetboards' skateboard/snowboard recreational product and One Organizer's online personal organizer.

The final teams are moving onto the third round, which requires the creation of a full business plan. The third round will determine the top 5 teams who will compete at the final presentation for the fourth and last round. Final business plans are due Thursday, April 17.

"Overall, all the round two 750-word plans sound very promising and I am very excited to see what is created for the final round business plans. The finale will take place May 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Hamilton Center and the general public is invited to attend," Lund said.
