Business Ethics Student Association hosts Ethics Week April 7-11

Released: April 03, 2008

Business ethics is a concept that affects all career paths and asks students what is "wrong" or "bad" when looking at business decisions with ethical implications.  K. Praveen Parboteeah, associate professor of management, hopes students will take advantage of Ethics Week hosted by the Business Ethics Student Association starting Monday, April 7.

"Students will get a good idea of business ethics in the real world," said Parboteeah. "Ethics week will also highlight how issues are addressed, why it is critical for students to be ethical when they start a job and finally, how to help them become more educated about critical ethical issues."

Business Ethics Week will cover a range of themes including individual integrity (why is it important to be honest?) to ethical expectations after you graduate (what to expect when you start that first job) to wider corporate issues such as environmental responsibility and business ethics in smaller firms. The different events will give students the chance to hear many issues pertaining to business ethics and the opportunity to gain insight from experienced individuals.
