WSUW campus radio station holds annual fund drive april 10-17
Released: April 10, 2008
91.7 WSUW The Edge offers students the opportunity to hone their radio skills while working at a non-commercial radio station on-campus.
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater radio station broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week and prides itself on the real-world experience it provides students. The Edge plays music of all varieties and with the support received from last year's fund drive, the station was able to remodel its facilities and get updated programming, both of which were long overdue.
The annual fund drive is expected to be an exciting event filled with free concerts including local bands, bowling and Guitar Hero contests. "Our goal is to raise $5,000. We have gone bigger and better in every way to really make this a success," Station Manager Stacy O'Neal said. "We have many businesses and organizations helping us out with this and we cannot wait to see how it turns out."
The Edge will broadcast live on location every weekday from noon to 2 p.m. in the University Center with Guitar Hero contests. The evening performances are sponsored by the Pumping Station of Whitewater.
