Every spring, seniors in the special education program are recognized for their outstanding achievements throughout the academic year. Nominees have strong academic records, may have shown significant growth or overcome adversity during their undergraduate studies, or display the knowledge and dispositions suggesting they are future leaders in special education.
The 2007-2008 Special Education award recipients are:
- Undergraduate Outstanding Student of the Year: David Harrison of Janesville
- Outstanding Minor: Rebecca Korth of Clinton
- Outstanding Graduate Student of the Year: Amy Riedl-Jones of Waukesha
- Outstanding Dual Licensure/Early Childhood Education Student of the Year: Katie Lubke of Milton
The recipients will be honored during a department luncheon with parents, spouses and department faculty May 16, 2008. The luncheon will be held in the Florence Kopas Assessment Center in Winther Hall and will begin at noon.
