SEAL Fest gives students a chance to relax before finals
Released: May 8, 2008
With the end of the semester quickly approaching, the Student Entertainment Awareness League (SEAL) and the Inter-Fraternity Council are co-sponsoring SEAL Fest, an event to give students a chance to relax before the final push of finals begins next week. The event is from 4-7 pm on Thursday, May 8 and will take place on the south end of the UC on the outside patio.
Pop/rock singer Derek James will perform. There will also be a side attraction called Wax Hands. “This is where students can dip their hands into a bucket of liquid wax, and then after a few minutes the wax becomes hard and they can take home a wax sculpture of their hands,” Management Intern Jimmy Pellizzi said. There will also be free food, cookies and ice cream catered by Chartwells.
The Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC) will have a dunk tank and sumo wrestling game where students can put on sumo wrestling uniforms and wrestle with their friends. There will also be a green friendliness economy booth and a cancer awareness booth sponsored by the IFC.
If it rains, SEAL’s events will be moved to the Down Under in the UC.
