Register now for food drive contest

There is still time to sign up for an event that both celebrates Chancellor Telfer’s inauguration and families in need with giant food sculptures.  To encourage more to participate, the registration deadline has been extended to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6. 

For those not sure what a giant food sculpture is, a sample sculpture of a truck is on display at the University Center.  Chartwells Food Service has generously offered to cover the cost of the grand prize luncheon with Chancellor Telfer and his wife, Roni.  The luncheon will be held in the The Commons at the University Center.  The date of this luncheon has not yet been determined.

For those who may want to participate on a smaller scale, receipts with “Foods for Funds” stickers attached can be brought in from Sentry Foods, and these stickers will go toward helping Whitewater Food Pantry.

“We currently have 10 groups that have turned in registration forms,” Coordinator Christine Hollar said.  “We are hoping more people will join so that this event will ultimately be successful.”

To register a team, or for complete contest guidelines, participants are asked to visit http://www.uww.edu/success or stop by the Career and Leadership Development office in the University Center 146.  Teams are welcome to register and build on either Monday, Nov. 10 or Tuesday, Nov. 11 from noon to 6 p.m. in the Hamilton Center of the University Center.
