Dr. Richard Telfer inauguration celebration Nov. 14
November 3, 2008
A celebration of a campus on the move and the inauguration of Dr. Richard Telfer as the 15th chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater will be held Nov. 14 on campus.
The inauguration is a campus and community celebration marking the official investment of Dr. Telfer as chancellor. A ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 14 in the Young Auditorium on the UW-Whitewater campus. The event is free and open to the public.
This is a great time to celebrate all that is special about UW-Whitewater. As the theme of the inauguration suggests, we’re a campus on the move, Dr. Telfer said. I also see this as a great opportunity to enhance the bridge that we have built between the UW-Whitewater campus and the greater community. Together, we can make extraordinary things happen for our students and the state of Wisconsin.
UW System President Kevin Reilly, Department of Administration Secretary Michael Morgan and other campus and community dignitaries will participate in the inauguration ceremony. Students play a visible role in the ceremony as well as providing musical and dance selections.
A reception in the Hamilton Center at the James R. Connor University Center will follow the inauguration.
