Warhawks take on Wisconsin Badgers in exhibition game
November 7, 2008
Last year, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawk men’s basketball team was a force to be reckoned with. This year, the fourth-ranked Warhawks will start their season with a game against the defending Big Ten Conference Champion University of Wisconsin Badgers at 7 p.m., Tues., Nov, 11 at the Kohl Center in Madison.
People are encouraged to travel to Madison to support the team. The Warhawks are excited to kick off their season in an exhibition game against the Badgers, Athletic Director Paul Plinske said. Fans are encouraged to show their support for the Warhawks by wearing purple to the Kohl Center.
This game is part of an agreement that sends one team from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) each year to play the Badgers in an exhibition game before the season gets under way.
The game will be an early test for the defending WIAC champion Warhawks who are looking to build upon the success they had last year. This is a great opportunity for our nationally ranked men’s basketball team to see where they stand against a Division I elite program, Plinkse said.
Tickets can be purchased for the game by contacting the Badger Athletic Ticket Office at 608-262-1440 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8:30 a.m. 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
