UW-Whitewater CEO chapter most decorated at national conference
December 1, 2008
In only its second year as a certified national Collegiate Entrepreneur’s Organization chapter, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater was the most decorated chapter and narrowly missed chapter of the year at the 2008 National Collegiate Entrepreneur’s Conference.
At the conference, UW-Whitewater took second place in the Best Fundraising Award Competition for the Social Entrepreneurship Project with a $500 matching grant; first place in the Best Marketing Plan Awards Competition; first place in the Best Chapter Plans Award Competition; and Jimmy Peltier was the recipient of the CEO Best Advisor Award.
Additionally, UW-Whitewater sophomore Jordan Leahy received a nod from the Acton Foundation for Entrepreneurial Excellence for his hero story, featuring Richard Kessler from Kesslers Diamonds.
I am very proud of what we have accomplished since we are now seen as one of the elite chapters in the country and have a process in place for keeping us there, said Jimmy Peltier, CEO advisor and Irvin L. Young Professor of Entrepreneurship. President Emily Karthesier and President Elect Bryan Northey did a great job leading us this year. On a personal note, I am also humbled and overjoyed to be the recipient of the CEO Best Advisor Award,’ given that this is my last year as CEO advisor.
