Winter commencement ceremony to be held Dec. 20

More than 650 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater students will receive diplomas during winter commencement at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 20, in the DLK/Kachel Fieldhouse.
UW-Whitewater graduate Eric Lund '91 will give the keynote address. Lund is co-founder and chief operating officer of Stark and Lund Hospitality (S&L Hospitality), a privately held hotel and indoor waterpark resort development and management company in Madison. He is responsible for all aspects of the company’s growth through development, operations and sales and marketing. Lund brings more than 25 years of sales and marketing experience to S&L Hospitality, including 20 years in the hospitality industry.
Lund has a bachelor’s degree in public policy and administration with an emphasis in marketing and public relations. He currently serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board for the College of Letters and Sciences at UW-Whitewater.
Shedrick Daniels of Cedarburg will be the student speaker. He will graduate from the College of Arts and Communication with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with an emphasis in advertising and a minor in public relations. During his time at UW-Whitewater, he has received many awards and honors, including the 2007 Reuben Klumb Outstanding Senior Award for leadership and the James R. Connor scholarship. This past October, Daniels was inducted into the Greek Hall of Fame at UW-Whitewater.
Commencement will also be broadcast on Cable 19, the campus cable TV station. It will be shown off campus on Charter Cable, channel 19, in Whitewater. The ceremony will also be available for purchase on DVD for $26.
