Warhawks advance to Stagg Bowl for fourth consecutive year
December 15, 2008
The UW-Whitewater football Warhawks took care of business Dec. 13 in a semi-final matchup against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and are on their way to the Stagg Bowl for the fourth straight year. The team will defend its national championship title again Mount Union University in Salem, Va. on Saturday Dec. 20.
Warhawks Head Coach Lance Leipold believes playing in the game is a great accomplishment, but there is still work to be done. We’re all excited, he said. We’re going down to Salem to represent our university and the Whitewater community.
The Warhawks will arrive in Salem on Wednesday, Dec. 17. Kick off is scheduled for 11:06 a.m. EST and 10:06 a.m. CST on ESPN 2. The game will also be broadcast live on 106.5 FM radio, Whitewater, and audio and video streamed on the Warhawk Athletics Web site.
Warhawk fans interested in going to the game can purchase advance tickets at the UW-Whitewater ticket office at 262-472-2222 now through noon Wednesday, Dec. 17 or by calling the Salem Civic Center at 540-375-3004.
