Student’s passion is helping other women find self-empowerment

December 8, 2008

Her passion in life is to help other women find what she has already successfully found—a healthy sense of self-worth in order to make goals realities.  University of Wisconsin-Whitewater psychology senior and certified life and family manager coach Tonya Ramsey has been able to make a career out of transformations.  These transformations come in the form of higher self-esteem, self-confidence and eventually a better self-image.

Ramsey’s desire to inspire others led her to start Life By Design (LBD).  LBD provides one-on-one coaching, group coaching and offers classes on the principle of prosperity.  As a coach and guide, Ramsey believes in focusing on the self first, self-esteem, self-confidence and self-image.

“I focus on personal development, family management, especially moms, and will now start helping people with business start-up,” Ramsey said.

Not only is Ramsey an invested student and coach, she is the founder of Mom’s Coffee Break (MCB).  MCB is a way for all working moms to take a break, socialize and engage in discussions on how to improve themselves.  She is both a writer and speaker and uses these talents to help women find what they need to change their lives.

In addition to her career as student and life coach, she makes time for weekly radio shows, “Journey to Self” on Thursdays and the new “Ladies, Let’s Talk” on Mondays.

“Journey to Self”, provides information, education and resources to listeners so that they are prepared to live a good life.

“I try to educate women, help them find their true identity and bring it to their life…men can definitely take from this too,” Ramsey said.

Tonya’s weekly radio show, “Journey to Self,” airs every Thursday at noon at http://blogtalkradio.com/journeytoself .  For more information about the show, visit http://journeytoself.info.

Ramsey will also join a team of women in launching the new radio show “Ladies, Let’s Talk” as part of Women and Hope’s ™  weekly segment of the Women’s Empower Hour radio show on Monday, Dec. 8 at 8 p.m. CST and 9 p.m. EST.  This show is a round-table format, where five women discuss anything and everything affecting their lives.  Along with Ramsey, Serenity Raven-Wolf in Australia, T. Daphne Kean in Canada and an eventual rotating fifth guest from the “Ladies, Let’s Talk” group will co-host.  Deitra C. Payne in Arizona will host.

“‘Ladies, Let’s Talk’ is really a different show,” Ramsey said.  “It’s just girlfriends getting together, sitting around, drinking coffee and talking about different topics.  We really need to spread the word, and this show really gives empowerment a global feel.”

Tune into “Ladies, Let’s Talk” at http://blogtalkradio.com/thewomensempowerhour, every Monday at 8 p.m.  For more information about the show, visit http://thewomensempowerhour.
