June 21, 2011

Chris Okon, Nate Hinze, and Matt Lesparance celebrate after winning the 2011 National Championship.Nate Hinze wants to give back to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, but he needs your help.

Hinze, who graduated in May, helped the wheelchair basketball team win three national championships for UW-Whitewater. He has succeeded not only on the court but also in the classroom by being named an academic All-American.

He's a contestant in a video contest sponsored by Top End, a wheelchair manufacturer. The three videos that draw the most views by the end of June each win $3,000. In addition, each will receive $6,000 to donate to a charity of their choice. Hinze has decided to donate the money to the UW-Whitewater wheelchair basketball program if he wins.

"Nate wants to give back to UW-Whitewater because of the time he played here.  He wants to give back to the school," said Jeremy Lade, head coach of the wheelchair basketball team.
