Take a free online philosophy class this summer in a virtual world

Second Life screen shotHave you ever wondered whether you can prove God exists or does not exist? Do you have free will or is that just an illusion? Is the world we see and live within really the "real" world, or perhaps it is but a well-designed computer simulation?

If these are questions you would love to explore, consider taking UW-Whitewater's Introduction to Philosophy course this summer in the online, virtual world of Second Life. Sit in on the class from the comfort of your own home.  No traveling. No cost. No grades. No credits. The only requirement is that you set up a free Second Life account and avatar (www.secondlife.com) and contact Chris Calvert-Minor, assistant professor of philosophy and religious studies, at calvertc@uww.edu for more details.

The course runs from June 17 to July 25 and meets in the virtual world on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 - 6:50 pm.
