"The Drowsy Chaperone"

A parody of 1920's musicals, "The Drowsy Chaperone" is a musical which comes to life in a man's apartment as he listens to the music on his record player. The UW-Whitewater production featured comedy, dance, an expansive student cast, glamorous costumes and big sets. It ran Feb. 26 - March 2 at Barnett Theater.

Tracey Lyons, left, an instructor and costume designer in the UW-Whitewater Theatre/Dance Department gives Jenna Ewers, 14, of Clinton, a 1950's look on Arts Immersion Day at UW-Whitewater Center for the Arts on Tuesday. Students from area schools visited the center to attend demonstrations in makeup, music, jewelry, percussion, print making and to see a production of The Drowsy Chaperone.

UW-Whitewater student Stephanie Staszak sings with student Jake Lesh in silhouette. When Lesh's character puts on a phonograph record of a 1920's musical, The Drowsy Chaperone, the show comes alive in his apartment.
