    For the third consecutive year, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is the only university and only state agency named a Top Workplace in southeast Wisconsin.

    Kudos to Robert Gruber, professor of accounting, who was elected chair of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

    Kudos to Warhawk Athletics, for sweeping the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Sports Awards for the 2012-13 academic year. This marks the first time in conference history that the same school has won the men's, women's and combined awards in the same academic year.

    Kudos to Matthew Sintchak, professor of music, who will serve as saxophone teacher and performer for the 32nd annual Lutheran Summer Music Academy and Festival, June 23 to July 21 at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.


    Classified Staff Recognition and Retirement Dinner

    The UW-Whitewater Classified Staff Recognition and Retirement Dinner will be held Tuesday, June 11, in the Old Main Ballroom, University Center room 275. A social hour will begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by a dinner and program at 5 p.m.  The event is open to all. Please RSVP by Wednesday, May 29.

    Those recognized will include retirees from the 2012-13 academic year and the 2013 Classified Staff Excellence Award winners Julie Marino, Curriculum and Instruction, and Nick Ciesinski, iCIT.


    Leadership Institute meeting for faculty and staff

    An open forum regarding the proposed university Leadership Institute will be held Wednesday, May 22, at 2 p.m. in University Center room 259.

    international study/travel opportunity

    The Center for Global Education welcomes officials from the University of Southern Denmark to campus on Friday, May 24, for a "Campus Conversation" to discuss the opportunities available to students and faculty. The event is 1 - 2 p.m. in Hyland Hall, room 1001.

    The university offers more than 40 degree programs taught in English across many academic disciplines, including programs in business, history, Scandinavian studies and science.

    I.M. Comm is the annual conference, hosted this year at UW-Oshkosh, that brings together administrators and faculty members from UW System universities to share best practices and explore new ideas in unified, collaborative storytelling.

    Don't miss this conference with presentations by Notre Dame, Oregon Ducks, UC Berkeley and more for only $50. I.M. Comm is aimed at advancing our own universities while also helping us break new ground in collaborations to better position higher education in Wisconsin and nationally.
