Kudos to Renée Melton, associate professor of graphic design, whose logo designs for regional businesses will be featured in "LogoLounge 8: International Identities by Leading Designers." About 2,000 logos were chosen for the book (out of nearly 35,000 entries), and will be published next year. Read more >>
Kudos to students Stephanie Punda, Reece Raethke, Ciara McGinn and Frank Petras, who represented UW-Whitewater at the 2013 American Collegiate Intramural Sports Fitness National Competition, held in Chula Vista, Calif. The team finished in sixth place overall. Read more >>
Kudos to Brian Lucas, lecturer in communication, and Eric Sheffield, College of Arts and Communication technology coordinator, who will perform in the Savory Sounds Concert Series, 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, at the Whitewater Arts Alliance's Cultural Arts Center.
Kudos to Ken Kohberger, director of the Young Auditorium, who won a $3,200 Arts Midwest/National Endowment for the Arts Touring Fund grant. The purpose of the award is to support performances and workshops by the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles at the UW-Whitewater.
table tennis championships
Students Cameron Gaskin, senior sociology major, and Chris Hatcher, junior accounting major, will compete in the 2013 Collegiate Table Tennis Championships, June 27-29, at Arizona State University. More than 40 of the best college players from more than 30 colleges and universities will battle for the national title in a two-day competition.
The University Bookstore will be closed Friday, June 28, for physical inventory. Textbook Rental will be open 8 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.
