Faculty and staff members are invited to participate in the 2013 Warhawk Send-Off. During these events, new students and their families have the opportunity to meet other Warhawks and family members, as well as faculty and staff members.
There will be food, a short program, and information on how families can support their Warhawk and help with the transition to college. There will be a variety of activities for participants to enjoy including horseshoes, sand volleyball, golf toss, bag toss, and a live band.
When: Sunday, Aug. 4, 1 - 4 p.m.
Where: Lakeview Park - 6300 Mendota Ave., Middleton
Optional Transportation: A bus will depart from campus at 11 a.m. and return at around 6 p.m.
When: Thursday, Aug. 8, 5 - 8 p.m.
Where: South Shore Park - 2900 South Shore Drive, Milwaukee
Optional Transportation: A bus will depart from campus at 3:30 p.m. and return around 9 p.m.

Kudos to Bob Barry, executive director of the University Center, who was elected to the central region board of directors for the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS) through June 2016. NACAS, headquartered in Charlottesville, Va., is a nonprofit higher education association serving professionals at four-year and two-year colleges and universities in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland and Asia.
Kudos to the staff members and participants of UW-Whitewater Intramural Sports, who helped campus make the Best Colleges for Intramual Sports list, compiled by BestColleges.com. Criteria included variety, leadership and facilities.
Kudos to UW-Whitewater students who will be performing in downtown Whitewater on Thursday, July 18, as part of the Savory Sounds series. The jazz group inlcudes Dylan Ovanin (saxophone), Andrew Baldwin (vibes), Jenica Georgeson (bass) and O'Malley Lomax (drums).
From the chancellor
The Chancellor's Listening Session is scheduled for Wednesday, July 24, from 1 - 2 p.m. in University Center room 261. There is no set agenda. Light refreshments will be served.

FROM THE PROVOST
Provost Beverly Kopper invites the campus community to visit with her during regular office hours Wednesday, July 10, from 7:30 - 9 a.m. in the University Center Commons area.
