On Thursday, July 18, from 11 a.m -1 p.m., the University Center will be hosting an "Around the World" Summer on the Mall. This cultural event will feature international carnival games, ethnic food, live music, children's activities and art projects. There will also be a dunk tank featuring UW-Whitewater "celebrities."

"Lumberjacks in Love" is the hilarious musical opening this week at UW-Whitewater.
It will be performed at the Hicklin Studio Theater in the Greenhill Center of the Arts July 16-20 at 7:30 p.m., and July 21 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at the Greenhill Center Box Office Monday-Friday 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. or by phone at 262-472-2222.
UW-Whitewater is hosting the 2013 Summer Institute Series.
This year's topic, "Using Technology in Research-Supported Instruction," will be presented by Rebbeca Hines, an associate professor in the Department of Child, Family, and Community Sciences at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.
The event is Aug. 7-8 in the James R. Connor University Center. The three-part professional development program is for teachers, behavioral specialists, administrators and other professionals and community agencies who want to learn about using technology to support special education.
On Tuesday, July 16, at 3:15 p.m., Aimee Arnold, budget director at UW-Whitewater, will co-present, "What Happens Next? UW System and UW-Madison perspectives."
The forum is part of a WISCAPE program at UW-Madison to explain the Wisconsin 2013-2015 Biennial State Budget, how it evolved, its potential impacts on the UW System and UW-Madison, and next steps.
The Chancellor's Listening Session is scheduled for Wednesday, July 24, from 1 - 2 p.m. in University Center room 261. There is no set agenda. Light refreshments will be served.

Through July 24, Roberta's Art Gallery in the University Center will be hosting "Moments Captured," a collection of photographs from UW-Whitwater's Tapan Shah. Registration is now open for the Discover Whitewater Series. The event is Sunday, Sept. 22, and features a half-marathon, half-marathon relay, 5K, and fit kid shuffle. The course, which is USTAF-certified, will start and finish at the Whitewater Aquatic Center.
Proceeds from the event will go to five local organizations in an effort to build a stronger community. These organizations include: Bethel House, UW-Whitewater Field and Cross Country, W3 (Working for Whitewater's Wellness), Whitewater Unified School District to promote academic excellence, and the Whitewater Aquatic Center.
From November 15-17, 2013 the University Center will be hosting the 2013 Region 8 Association of College Unions International Conference. UW-Whitewater faculty, staff and students interested in sharing their talents and leadership are encouraged to submit an application to present an educational session.
