faculty and staff orientation week

Kudos to alumna Emily Paulson '14, who spoke at the national meeting of Pi Mu Epsilon, the mathematical honor society, in Portland, Ore., on August 8. Her topic was a statistical analysis of Hashimoto's Thyroiditis that she had carried out under the direction of Bala Pandiyan in the Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences at UW-Whitewater. Paulson was recognized for her work at the Pi Mu Epsilon banquet that evening. She will be attending graduate school at Marquette University in the fall and studying data analysis.
Kudos to the Zeta Kappa Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity at UW-Whitewater, which was awarded the Alpha Kappa Pi Gold Cup by its national headquarters. This places Zeta Kappa among the top 10 chapters of Alpha Sigma Phi throughout the country, based on the score of the fraternity's annual report.
