Chancellor Richard Telfer will deliver his State of the University address at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at Young Auditorium. Everyone -- including students, faculty, staff and community members -- is welcome to attend.
women in higher education leadership
Maj. Gen. Marcia Anderson, the Army's first female African-American major general, is the keynote speaker at the annual Women in Higher Education Leadership event. The event begins with a meet and greet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, in Hyland Hall, followed by Anderson's address at 11 a.m.
The First Year Experience Office would like to invite the campus community to several welcome events. RSVP >> for one or both events.

- Convocation Tuesday, Sept. 2, 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m., Kachel Fieldhouse
New Student Convocation is a ceremonial event similar to Commencement. This year's event involves faculty and staff wearing academic regalia. Please arrive to the Williams Center Dance Studio at 11 a.m. to line up for the faculty and staff processional. A campus-wide cookout will follow convocation in Gym 1 and outdoors (weather permitting). Lunch is free for faculty and staff who attend Convocation.

diversity course name change
The Diversity Course Requirement for graduation (listed on students' academic advising reports) is now called the U.S. Racial/Ethnic Diversity Course Requirement.

An open house at Institutional Research and Planning and Academic Assessment for faculty and staff will be held from 1 - 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, in Heide Hall 450. Come learn about the services your new campus resource has to offer. Light refreshments will be served.
