National Campus Children's Center Week
The teachers and children from the Children's Center will be celebrating all week by hosting a Bottle Cap Mural station in the University Center and they'd like your help! Mural creation will take place at 10-10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10 in UC 262 and 11-11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11.

Grab some puppy snuggles, a free massage and take home some snacks! The Wellness Fair, which runs from noon to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15 in the Hamilton Room, will offer several giveaways, activities, a cooking demostration and a chance to win a $50 gift card!

Cheese Tasting Open House
International students from China, Japan, Zimbabwe, Italy, Russia and France will host this interactive, educational event. Join them from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Heide Hall, 460 and 466, as they offer up delicious Wisconsin cheese with a side of dairy history and fun facts about local cheese companies.
There will be games, displays and an unusual variety of cheese to sample.

QPR Training: How to Prevent Suicide
Students, staff and faculty are welcome to attend a free training to learn how to recognize the signs of suicide and how to get help for someone in crisis. The training will be from 12:30-2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18. Registration is required by emailing fischere@uww.edu.

Flu shots are available now at the Ambrose Health Center. Students are $10 and faculty and staff are $15. Walk-in visits are welcome. Other opportunities include:

Room from noon to 3 p.m.

Applications open: Winter 2020 Online/Blended Teaching Institute
Faculty and teaching academic staff are eligible to apply for the Winter 2020 Online/Blended Teaching Institute. Applications are due Monday, Oct. 28. Deans will select participants from their college’s pool of applicants. Participants who successfully complete all of the Institute requirements may earn a $1,000 stipend from their respective college. The Winter Institute prepares for teaching during the following Summer and Fall terms. Participants will be able to complete the January portion of the Winter institute remotely!

Enjoy a free lunch every Tuesday
Every Tuesday (with the exception of Nov. 26) the First United Methodist Church University Ministry, located at 145 S. Prairie Street in Whitewater, serves free lunch. Food is served between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., with a different menu each week. The menu for Tuesday, Oct. 15, will feature lasagna and pastas.
