Kudos to Kris Curran, professor of biological sciences, and Ozgur Yavuzcetin, associate professor of physics, who participated in an episode of the podcast Chem4REAL: Research Engages All Learners. Also participating was Catherine Chan, former professor of biological sciences and chemistry. In their podcast, “Mentored research as a key strategy to recruit and engage diverse STEM students,” they speak to supporting and recruiting diverse students, establishing personal connections and trust, and finding institutional resources to build networks of support. The podcast is available through Apple podcasts, Google podcasts, Spotify, iTunes, Breaker, Overcast, Pocket cast, Radiopublic and the hosting site https://anchor.fm/curchem.
Kudos to Russ Kashian, professor of economics and director of the Fiscal and Economic Research Center, Neil McCants, a general management major from Milwaukee, and Miguel Miranda, who is pursuing a master's degree in finance, whose study, “Banking Habits of College Students: WBF, UW-Whitewater Study,” is featured by the Wisconsin Bankers Association.
