Now is the Time 2019

This event took place in August, 2019.

FRAGRANCE FREE ZONE: Perfumes, cologne, scented body spray, lotions, aftershaves, hair-care products and other scented products affect the health of many people. Scented products can trigger mild to severe reactions such as respiratory distress, migraines, and nausea.  Please do not wear scented products to the Now is the Time Conference.

Wisconsin received one of 16 grants from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to improve access to treatment and support services for youth and young adults ages 16-25 who have, or are at risk of developing, a serious mental health condition.

With the ongoing support of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's Inclusive Transition, Education, and Employment Projects (ITE & EP) will be hosting the third annual Now Is The Time conference in August of 2019. This free two-day conference is an opportunity to learn from national, statewide, and local experts and practitioners in the mental health field. Keynote speakers and breakout sessions will focus on increasing education and understanding for anyone supporting youth and young adult mental health and wellbeing. Learn about and discuss current practices in the mental health field with fellow practitioners and experts.

The goal of this conference is to increase awareness and understanding of the unique needs of youth and young adults of ages 16-25 among mental health professionals, counselors, social workers, educators, advocates, family members, and individuals with a mental health diagnosis or need.
