UW-Whitewater home page gets facelift

The UW-Whitewater Web site has a fresh, new look.

The "Parents" page can now be found by clicking on the "Parent Resources" link under the home page heading "Campus Life."

On the "Parent Resources" page you can learn more about Family Weekend, the V.I.P. Association, Send Munchies and how to subscribe to the Parent Newsletter.

A look at UW-Whitewater: Watch the videos

A great way to see what's going on at your child's university is to watch the videos posted on the UW-Whitewater Web site. Some of the most recent postings include video from the welcome home celebration for the national champion football team, Justin Beaver winning the Gagliardi Trophy, an introduction to campus, a look at the wheelchair basketball team and the 15th anniversary of the Young Auditorium.

Parental notification policy 'In the News'

During summer preview and in previous articles in the Parent Newsletter we have talked about parental notification. Parental notification is used when a student has been written up in the residence halls or received a citation on campus for alcohol or drug use. It is part of our effort to educate students when they engage in behavior that could put their health and/or safety at risk. Federal law allows the university to notify parents when alcohol and drugs are involved in their students' discipline case, even when the situation does not pose an immediate health threat. So far this school year we have used the parental notification in 231 incidents.

Late last fall the Wall Street Journal did a story on parental notification which included UW-Whitewater. Click on the link to read more about how parental notification is used and what the results can be.
